Recently, I have chosen to move my gallery system from Pass Gallery to Pic-time. There were a few reasons behind this. I found Pass Gallery to be a very user-friendly system. And my clients loved it! However, ultimately, I did decide due to the lack of Australian printing options. Pass vs Pic-time
Visually speaking, these two gallery hosting systems are basically the same and offer much of the same templates and visuals. Both offer visually stunning galleries that wow clients and are also very user-friendly with the download system.
The price point of both is much the same. Both offer free accounts with limited storage. However, once on the paid plans, Pass is the slightly cheaper option with 100 GB of storage available for $20USD a month with Pic-time starting at $21USD a month. With this being said, Pic-time offers an additional 30 GB video storage on top of your plan, which, from both a photographer’s perspective and a client, is a game-changer. I personally use this to share little BTS or little highlight reels in their sneak peeks, and my clients love them!
Pic-time also have Australian-based print stores, which was important to me, which is ultimately what led to my change. There are 3 printing services which are Australian-based in Pictime, including Aitkins photo lab, which is one of the best print stores in Australia and can only be accessed by industry professionals.
Having Australian-based stores is important in adding value to clients, which I love.
One last thing which is differnt between Pass Gallery and Pic-Time is the use of AI and SEO blogs. Available on the professional plans, you’ll have the ability to name faces, so clients can find photos including certain people. Clients LOVE this! It makes navigating the gallery a lot easier and also an added touch that goes a long way.
Pic-time also has SEO customised blogs which you can embed straight into your website when share galleries (this means it will take up less space on your website)
