Brooke & Aaron’s engagement session at the Entrance

As a Central Coast photographer, I know there are countless options to use for your backdrop for engagement sessions. Whether you’re looking for dramatic cliffs, scenic beaches or lush rainforests, there’s something for everyone. But something I love is sharing my home with my couples who travel. When Brooke & Aaron told me they were planning on bringing a picnic to their engagement session, I knew the perfect spot to run this session.

The Entrance is a popular spot for photographers, but there is one specific spot that people travel for. Located just south of Picnic Point Reserve, you’ll find long grass, large trees and the perfect spot for golden hour. During my time as a Central Coast engagement photographer, I’ve run a few sessions in this spot. You can read them here. And every time I head to this location, I’m reminded again why it’s so popular. The lighting in this area is perfect, plus it’s very accessible since it’s only just off the cycleway.

I’m capturing Brooke & Aarons’s Hunter Valley wedding next year, so being their engagement photographer was the perfect opportunity to get them comfortable in front of the camera, and also familiar with how I work.

The session itself was full of laughs and fun moments. I mentioned earlier that for this engagement session, they are planning on bringing a picnic. This was Brooke’s idea on how to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. The picnic gave them something to do, something to focus on at the beginning of the session, and it worked perfectly for them! Featuring their favourite wine, cake and some napkins that Brooke is handmaking for the wedding. It distracted them enough while they were feeling out the came and made for some great candid photography!

If you’re on the hunt for a Central Coast engagement photographer, I’d love to capture this moment for you!
