Magical Elopement in John Tucker Park, Paterson

  • by

Elopements are slowly becoming one of my favourite sorts of photography. The ability can be all about love without the stresses of navigating family dynamics, creating extensive timelines, organising countless vendors and just the general stress that comes with weddings. As a Central Coast elopement photographer, I am starting to see why more people are opting for elopements over the traditional festivities.

Recently I was asked by Rijke and Aaron to be a part of their day. After being together for 11 years they figured it was finally time to tie the knot, but they wanted to do it their way. In their local area, with their two kids, two best friends and their mums. All they wanted was a casual ceremony followed up by some portraits and then enjoying a picnic with their guest.

How could I say no?! Sounds like a dream! So I packed my bags and took the two-hour drive up to Paterson. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. Despite road work going on right next to the park and a storm on the way which we had to beat, it was beautiful! The park features a little bridge as well as rows of huge pine trees, which were honestly mesmerising.

The location was perfect and the day was perfect for Rijke and Aaron! It was such an honour to be a part of this special day. I can’t wait for more Hunter Valley elopements in the future!
